On 7 October the UK ENUM service was launched and is now accepting registrar applications.Our application to become an ENUM registrar is currently being considered and and we have everything in place to support the requirements so look forward to being awarded the status soon. |

The ENUM EPP testbed was launched on 9 July 2008.This provides us with a safe 'sandbox' database to develop and test our EPP systems. |

A registry is to be created that could reduce businesses' phone bills by forcing VoIP providers to interconnect their networks. The so-called Enum (from tElephone NUmber Mapping) registry is to be created by Nominet, the company that already runs the .uk registry, after it won the UK contract on Thursday. |

Staying in touch via phone or web could soon get easier as work starts on a way to unite the internet and the telephone network. When finished the UK's national Enum directory will make looking up net phone numbers like finding a website.. Initially the directory will target the UK's net telephony networks so calls can cross between them more easily. But the directories are expected to one day hold details of the many different ways almost anyone can be contacted |
